SUMMARY:Scent Final Showcase
DESCRIPTION:On 20-21 June 2019\, the Scent project will host the Scent Showcase in Athens\, Greece. This is an opportunity for you to experience the new innovations in environmental monitoring. \nThe two day event will feature exhibitions and demonstrations of new applications developed by the Scent project for tracking changes in the environment. Attendees will also be able to participate in interactive sessions with experts in the field of citizen science and flood management. On the second day of the event\, attendees are invited to take part in a field campaign on the Kifisos river basin\, where the Scent applications will be put to the test. \nOn display will be the newly developed Scent Toolbox – a collection of smart technologies developed by the project to support environmental monitoring\, as well as flood management and prevention. The Scent Toolbox includes Scent Explore and Scent Measure\, two fun new gaming apps to enable citizens to monitor changes in the environment around them. \nThese new apps are currently being tested in citizen science campaigns in Greece and Romania. The data collected from these apps is used to create vital flood maps for the region. The results from these first campaigns will also be on display at the Showcase. \nRegistration for the event will open soon. SUMMARY:LIBER Annual Conference
DESCRIPTION:LIBER’s Annual Conference is a key meeting point for research library professionals. \nHeld in late June or early July\, the conference brings library directors and their staff together for three days of networking and collaboration. Delegates mainly come from Europe but people from around the world are welcome\, and we regularly welcome guests from countries including Australia\, Canada and the United States. \nThe goal of the conference is to identify the most pressing needs for research libraries\, and to share information and ideas for addressing those needs. \nBefore the main conference\, many delegates join workshops and meetings for LIBER Working Groups\, and following the conference social events such as tours of the area are arranged for those who wish to participate. \n  \n \nThis year\, 2019\, LIBER’s Annual Conference will take place in Dublin\, Ireland on the campus of Trinity College Dublin. \n  \nThe registration will open on February and the participants are advised to register early\, as the space of Trinity College Dublin is limited to about 400 delegates and the event is expected to be popular. More information about the conference\, the agenda and the registration are expected to be available soon here. \n  \n
